How To Prepare For Your Photo Shoot

How To Prepare For Your Photo Shoot

TIPS

TIME
Photo shoots are a creative process and should not be rushed. Photo shoots can take anywhere from 2-4 hours.

CLOTHES
Bring the outfits you are supposed to wear for your photo shoot. Do not bring formal attire, such as evening gowns and church dresses (suits for guys under 21), Bold Logo clothing and inappropriate garments like cheerleader uniforms or bridal gowns. All garments should be clean, ironed and on hangers. Please make sure ALL clothing fits you properly and is a good color for you. Do not shoot in a swimsuit unless you have a terrific, toned shape. Simple accessories are great. Create a total look. If you have the money hire a stylist to pull designer garments for you from local stores. It WILL make the difference if you have a “fashion” look.

HAIR
Show up with your hair clean and camera ready. Stylists can change the style slightly but don’t expect to have the time to curl, flat iron or crimp. Do make sure your hair is healthy, no discolored roots are showing and the style and color are flattering to your face.

SKIN
Skin should be clean, blemish free and moisturized. Come w/o makeup. Bring your own foundation and powder for special skin types. Legs, arms, and bikini area should be shaved. Eyebrows should be properly tweezed 2 days prior to shooting .Females should wax dark facial hair. Nails should be manicured/pedicured with clear nail polish only. Get plenty of sleep the night before. No amount of makeup can cover puffy eyes. No alcohol or caffeine 24 hours in advance.

UNDERWEAR
This is a list of underwear a model is expected to have in their model’s bag: seamless, flesh toned bra and thong panties are a must! Other suggestions for underwear to bring: a variety of styles and colors.. strapless, fullback, bikini pushups, low cut.etc.

SHOES
High heels and plain white tennis shoes are normally sufficient. The right shoe can make or break an outfit.

ATTITUDE
Bring an open mind, creativity, and a good attitude. The more you enjoy yourself… the better your film will be. Leave friends, relatives and pets at home. Be courteous about the set, borrowed clothes and to the crew
